Join the Close Brothers Compliance Monitoring team where you will lead a team responsible for developing and executing a programme of compliance monitoring and assurance activities across the deposit taking, lending and corporate functions for Close Brothers.

Working as part of the Compliance Monitoring team, our ideal team member will have previous experience in Risk Governance and Risk Management with excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define and periodically review the strategy for Compliance Monitoring and Assurance, maintaining its alignment with evolving regulatory requirements and industry norms
  • Define and periodically review the Compliance Monitoring methodology and ways of working, enabling an agile and lean approach to the delivery of reviews
  • Develop a risk-based monitoring and assurance plan with a strong focus on regulation and customer outcomes
  • Lead the team's delivery of the agreed plan, with accountability for timely and quality reviews, delivered to budget
  • Establish and utilise processes to identify topical events, business changes and regulatory developments that may impact the compliance monitoring programme, enabling proportionate responses to unexpected developments
  • Build excellent stakeholder relationships
  • Lead, manage and develop the team, in line with the Group's culture. Set the tone within the team by encouraging an inclusive culture and role modelling the company values and expected behaviours
Developing Our People: as a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
  • You have demonstrable expertise in Risk Governance and Risk Management including risk identification, controls design and controls testing
  • You have considerable experience of monitoring activities within a variety of financial institutions
  • You have demonstrable understanding of existing regulatory expectations in areas such as third-party management/outsourcing, conduct rules, complaints handling, collections and arrears management and treatment of vulnerable customers
  • You have excellent relationship building skills
  • You are credible in Executive level discussions
  • You hold a professional qualification in compliance, law, accounting, risk management or auditing.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
  • Have strong knowledge and hands on experience of using data analytics tools and interpreting results
