In a nutshell

The Head of Compliance & Risk leads the company's efforts in protecting the integrity, fairness, and legal standing of our operations. This role oversees all risk management and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with internal policies and external regulatory frameworks. They directly manage the KYC and Risk Managers and their respective teams, and are responsible for shaping and executing policies that minimize operational, legal, and reputational risks.

This role focuses on regulatory obligations and operational risk in our platform-facing areas (KYC, withdrawals, player integrity, AML, responsible gaming). It does not include legal contract management or administrative compliance, which remain under the scope of the Administration department.

The responsibilities & the impact YOU will have:

Compliance & Risk Strategy
  • Define and implement the overall risk and compliance strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor industry developments and update policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing jurisdictions, AML regulations, and responsible gaming standards.
  • Oversee internal controls to prevent fraud, abuse, and regulatory violations.
Supervision & Oversight
  • Lead and develop the Risk Management and KYC teams, providing strategic direction and operational guidance.
  • Approve escalated decisions related to high-risk withdrawals, fraud investigations, and complex KYC cases.
  • Review team performance, identify gaps, and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in critical case reviews and high-value incident escalations.
Collaboration & Enablement
  • Serve as the main point of contact with legal advisors, regulators, and providers on compliance-related matters.
  • Support cross-department initiatives such as new feature releases or marketing campaigns to ensure risk and compliance alignment.
  • Collaborate with QA leads to ensure quality standards are upheld across compliance and risk workflows.
  • Collaborate with Administration's Legal & Contract Compliance team to ensure full coverage of corporate and operational compliance, avoiding overlap and ensuring aligned responsibilities.
Reporting & Insights
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation on compliance and risk management activities.
  • Provide regular reports to the COO and executive team on KPIs, key risks, and compliance performance.
  • Lead audits and ensure readiness for any regulatory reviews or inspections.
All you need is...
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in compliance, risk, or AML in the online gaming or similar industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks, KYC, AML, responsible gaming, and fraud prevention.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multi-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in risk tools, compliance platforms, and data reporting.
Nice to have
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience using Slack, ClickUp, FullStory, and other operational tools.
  • Track record of successful interaction with licensing bodies or regulatory entities.
  • Familiarity with QA and performance measurement frameworks.
