British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our Archives team. BAS delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions. We employ experts from many different professions to carry out our Science as well as keep the lights on, feed the research and support teams and keep everyone safe!

You'll be joining our Archives Team to help ensure the delivery of effective information governance through the application of policy and provision of guidance, particularly relating to data protection legislation.

Current projects the team are working on include: undertaking data protection impact assessments on BAS systems and associated mitigating activities; oversight of the decommissioning of legacy systems to ensure compliance with legislation; and the provision of guidance to staff on information rights issues, responsibilities and requirements.

For the role of Information Compliance Assistant we are looking for somebody who has: practical knowledge and understanding of data protection legislation; the ability to formulate and offer clear advice on information rights issues to colleagues and stakeholders; a proven ability to multi-task, prioritise and work proactively; and a flexible approach to working to meet changing business priorities.
