Job Description

Duties/ responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of COBS9A / MiFID II targeted client file review to a high standard within set deadlines
  • Maintain review documentation to an auditable standard in clear and understandable manner
  • Apply conduct and client outcome risk lense, escalating any issues that may lead to foreseeable harm promptly
  • Assist with any other tasks as might reasonably be requested by the Head of UK Compliance
  • Follow the Bank's Values in all activities and support colleagues to also do so
  • Support a 'one team' approach by respecting dependencies across departments and locations
Management of risk

EFGIUK adheres to the three lines of defence model in its approach to risk management. This role is within the 2nd line of defence.
  • Carry out your job in line with the Bank's Risk Management Framework and associated Policies, Standards and Procedures, including the detailed responsibilities relevant to your function set in the Three Lines of Defence Standard.
  • Monitor risk exposure against the Risk Appetite set by the Board.
  • Provide oversight over risks, independent of the 1st line of defence.
  • Provide independent input and challenge into key decision-making processes.
  • Promptly report and escalate elevated risk levels, incidents and breaches, in line with the Escalation Standard.
  • Working closely and cooperatively with the 1st and 3rd lines of defence, promote and follow the Bank's risk culture in particular its values of being partnership orientated, passionate, solutions driven, accountable and hands on.
  • Working closely and cooperatively with the Data Protection Officer and promote and follow the Bank's data protection policies and procedures.
Person specification

Required knowledge, skills and experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting quality assurance activities in financial industry wealth management sector
  • Understanding of Consumer Duty principle, UK FCA Handbook COBS 9 an MiFID regulatory requirements, their applicability and industry pest practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of client outcome and investment suitability related risks in wealth management sector.
  • Microsoft Excel literate
Required qualifications:
  • Ideally Degree qualified (No specific professional qualification required)
  • No specific professional qualification required however ICA, ACAMS or CIA qualification will be of an advantage

  • Able to grasp and understands new topics and concepts quickly
  • Excellent analytical skills and exemplary attention to details
  • Data driven, able to utilise data in an effective manner to generate efficiencies
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to work under pressure without close supervision.
  • Logical and analytical with an ability to work in a flexible, agile manner.
