We are recruiting an Internal Audit Manager at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 hours
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Financial Services Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £49,764 - £52,805 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The successful applicant will be rresponsible for managing the provision of the statutory Internal Audit Service to the Council, which includes advising the Governance and Audit Committee and senior management team on internal control and governance issues.
You will Provide advice and guidance to managers in respect of the control environment and the promotion of probity and best practice across the Council.
The postholder will also be responsible for the development and delivery of the audit strategy and annual work plan and line management of the audit team.

- A Qualified Accountant with CCAB recognised qualification or Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) qualified.
- Knowledge of current financial and governance issues affecting Local Government.
- Experience of strategic and operational audit planning and of monitoring performance against agreed criteria.
- A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to undertake audits and attend meetings as required.
