Job Description

Job Title: Internal Audit Manager

Location: Head Office, Leicestershire
Salary: Competitive, plus car, bonus & benefits

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Internal Audit Manager to join our team at NEXT plc. You'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity of our Retail, Online, and Global operations, including Head Office, Warehouse/Distribution and subsidiaries.

What You'll Do: As the Internal Audit Manager, you will:
  • Lead and oversee a team of 6 auditors.
  • Conduct audits across financial, IT, and operational areas (UK and international), covering key topics such as corporate governance, FCA compliance, CSR, supplier due diligence, and whistleblowing.
  • Work closely with the Head of Internal Audit to bring innovative ideas and methods to continually improve the internal audit function.
  • Ensure audit tasks are completed to the highest standard, contributing to the company's risk framework and internal controls.
  • Deliver the audit plan
  • Project work
  • Non standard audit work including 'whistle-blowing'
About You:
  • Qualified: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA with proven audit management experience.
  • Experienced: Previous experience in retail and FCA compliance is highly advantageous.
  • Analytical & Detail-Oriented: You'll need excellent organisational, report writing, and analytical skills with strong knowledge of audit techniques.
  • Influential & Relationship-Builder: You'll communicate effectively across all levels of the business, building strong relationships and influencing decisions.
  • A Passionate Leader: You're ready to lead a team, while remaining hands-on and detail-focused in a fast-paced environment.
What We're Looking For:
  • Essential:
    • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CMIIA).
    • Experience of managing and leading
    • Strong audit management experience.
    • Excellent report writing and Excel skills.
  • Desirable:
    • Retail sector experience.
    • IT audit and business process improvement experience.
    • Big 4 or exposure to complex businesses.
