Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics and Compliance Manager to strategically manage and elevate all aspects of our transportation, compliance, and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain processes, international freight, and regulatory compliance. This role requires effective leadership to drive decisions and activities that protect the company, ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions, and maintain high standards of regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include overseeing import/export compliance, managing customs brokers, developing strategies to reduce freight spend, and implementing systems for data management and reporting. The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying and managing risks, collaborating with logistics providers, and ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategically manage and elevate all aspects of transportation, compliance, and logistics through effective leadership.
  • Benchmark, understand, and implement supply chain processes specific to logistics; best practices and systems to achieve customer service excellence and minimize asset/logistics-related costs.
  • Drive decisions and activities that protect the company through comprehensive oversight of import/export compliance, standardized and documented policies, and procedures.
  • Own relationships and rapport with U.S. Customs, DHS, and International Agencies.
  • Manage customs brokers and performance, directing decisions, processes, and solutions surrounding classifications, country of origin determinations, regulated product flows, duty drawback, Free Trade Agreements, FTZ, and other programs that support expedient, compliant clearance and flow of products and service items.
  • Oversee company-wide compliance adherence, education, regulatory obligations, and audits.
  • Champion projects and solve work problems involving customs, duties, and taxes to minimize cost and risk through procedural and automated solutions.
  • Identify and manage risk involved with adherence to Customs rulings that, without compliance, can result in fines, penalties, or inability to ship cross-border.
  • Develop reporting and KPIs for logistics and compliance functions.
  • Register for and manage special tariff and trade programs as appropriate and support internal assessments for ongoing participation.
  • Create and coordinate agendas, e.g., transfer pricing, COO markings and reporting, binding rulings.
  • Implement detailed systems of data management for all import/export filings, ensuring that required documents are complete, accurate, and accessible.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce freight spend and improve transportation efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze freight costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with logistics providers to negotiate favorable rates and optimize shipping routes.
  • Manage all modes of transportation, including truck, rail, air, ocean, and oversized loads, ensuring efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
  • Minimum of 3 years of global trade compliance experience, including a background of trade compliance involvement with logistics (e.g., international trade transactions, Code of Federal Regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedules, CBP).
  • Understanding of export and import processes, controls, and documentation.
  • Experience with all modes of transportation, including oversized loads.
  • Knowledge of all facets of transportation field: truck, rail, air, ocean transportation, freight forwarding, warehousing processes.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise-wide systems (e.g., INFOR CSI, SAP, WMS), in addition to Microsoft Office programs.
