About the role:

We are a fast-paced, creative, and customer-oriented team with employees in San Francisco, Atlanta, and London. We are looking for a Logistics and Compliance Manager II to support the Operations, Sales, and Finance teams regarding shipping and compliance; this is a remote position.

This role requires a candidate with high attention to detail, exemplary problem-solving skills, the ability to maintain composure in a rapidly evolving environment, and a thorough understanding of customs regulations. Candidates must have demonstrated the ability to thrive in a highly driven environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities, as well as the ability to analyze data to make informed strategic decisions. Candidates must be able to quickly master new skills, procedures, and systems, with an overall desire to contribute to company growth.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metro Area.

In this role, you will:
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting logistics and shipping at Samsara; specifically valuation.
    • Stay up-to-date with changes in trade laws and regulations.
  • Plan, Coordinate, and Monitor Logistics Operations
    • Plan and coordinate logistics for incoming and outgoing shipments at Samsara.
    • Actively monitor the logistics process, tracking the status of shipments in real-time and making adjustments to plans as necessary to address any issues or delays.
    • Manage relationships with logistics and customs brokerage service providers.
    • Administer the freight audit and pay program.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping
    • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate records of all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs declarations for Samsara.
    • Ensure proper documentation is available for audits and regulatory inspections.
    • Develop and maintain regulatory compliance and logistics procedures.
  • Compliance Audits and Training
    • Conduct regular audits of logistics processes at Samsara to ensure compliance.
    • Develop and implement training programs for new and existing staff at Samsara on regulatory compliance and logistics procedures.
  • Risk Management
    • Identify and assess potential risks in the logistics processes at Samsara and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Manage and resolve any compliance or logistical issues that arise.
  • Stakeholder Communication
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for daily matters related to logistics and compliance at Samsara.
    • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including suppliers and internal customers.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for this role:
  • Proven experience in global logistics and trade compliance
  • 5+ years experience in a Logistics/Compliance role
  • E2Open or similar application experience is a big plus
  • Intermediate skills in GSuite or MS Office
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Samsara's Compensation Philosophy: Samsara's compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$79,730-$120,600 USD
