We are seeking a hands-on Manager to actively support the maintenance and enhancement of the Financial Crime Risk Management Framework within HSBC Innovation Bank UK. This role is integral to the First Line of Defence (FLOD), working closely with operational and functional teams to address financial crime risks and ensure effective controls are in place.
The value you'll add:
The Financial Crime Risk & Controls (FCRC) team is responsible for managing anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorism financing (CTF), sanctions, PEP, and reputational risk assessments. The team also oversees transaction monitoring, screening, alert management, and the identification of suspicious activity.
What you can expect to be doing:
• Actively manage and maintain the Financial Crime Risk Management Framework to support the business, functional, and change teams.
• Collaborate with FLOD teams to deliver Risk and Control Assessments (RCAs) and address risk events, control issues, and remediation actions.
• Lead financial crime quality assurance activities and partner with the Second Line of Defence (SLOD) for effective oversight.
• Ensure financial crime systems and processes are efficient, recommending and implementing enhancements where needed.
• Act as a trusted advisor for FLOD teams on managing financial crime risks and remediation plans.
• Develop and provide financial crime risk training and help produce actionable risk and control MI for informed decision-making.
• Support the design and monitoring of key risk and performance indicators (KRIs and KPIs) to identify and address thematic issues within the control environment.
The experience you need:
• Strong experience in financial crime risk management, ideally within banking, investment, or risk/audit roles.
• Proven ability to design and assess compliance programs and controls, with a focus on financial crime prevention and remediation.
• Knowledge of FCA and PRA regulatory frameworks and relevant compliance requirements for financial institutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience advising and representing as a Financial Crime SME.
• Professional qualifications in Financial Crime Prevention (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) are preferred.
