Mystery Shopper and Brand Compliance Manager

We are seeking a Mystery Shopper and Brand Compliance Manager to join our Retail Dealer Division. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining brand compliance and operational excellence across our network of retail stations. The Valor Shopper will travel to each retail station quarterly to conduct detailed Valor Shops reports.

Valor Oil, a third-generation petroleum distributor based in Owensboro, Ky., that provides private label and major brand gasoline, diesel fuels, racing fuels, lubricants, antifreeze and other petroleum products., who operate approximately 13 C-stores in northern Kentucky & Ohio. As well the operation of delivering gasoline to wholesale accounts in 4 southeast states at over 120 wholesale dealer locations. The company is headquartered in Owensboro, Ky.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive quarterly reviews of Valor Shops at all retail stations.
• Communicate to Valor CRS team on failing mystery shop compliance items that impact financials going to/from the dealer and to/from Valor.
• Communicate with the Territory Sales Rep who is responsible for all the day to day operational issues with a phone call upon leaving each site and entering the Zenput information that includes the integrity of the mystery shops as well as a detailed conversation with the dealer or business owner on anything they need etc. or have any friends or family looking for stores so that it can be relayed to the sales rep to put in the cold-calling Monday.com Dealer Capex board Derek has on Monday.com
• Own the Mystery Shops Compliance board & have full access to all the brand portals, for Shell, Marathon, Valero, Sunoco.
• Responsible for the cures alongside the reps and maintain the board to make sure all "Curable" points allowed on the site are submitted to the oil company partners and confirming points back.
• Identify and resolve potential operational issues to maintain compliance.
• Communicate directives, policies, and best practices to retail site personnel.
• Ensure all locations meet brand compliance requirements.
• Maintain supplies from squeegees, brand shirts, name tags, badges, stickers, pump-toppers, pump topper marketing inserts. Ensure this is maintained quarterly.
• Provide detailed reports on findings and corrective actions.
• Maintain strong relationships with retail site staff and management.
• Adhere to guidelines and standards for mystery shopping.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Typically, Travel/Remote 95% work, but office space in Owensboro will be made available for rare ad-hoc situations that arise.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in retail operations, compliance, or mystery shopping preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify areas of improvement.
• Adhere to guidelines and standards for mystery shopping.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Attentive to detail.
• Ability to conduct duties discreetly and impartially.
• Outstanding memorization abilities.
• Organized, flexible disposition.
• Ability to work independently and manage a travel-based schedule.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills and working with a high sense of urgency.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
