LAYC/MMYC's mission is to empower a diverse population of youth to achieve a successful transition to adulthood, through multicultural, comprehensive, and innovative programs that address youths' social, academic, and career needs. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages implementation and ongoing compliance with the US Health and Human Services IFR: Standards to Prevent, Detect, and Respond to Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment Involving Unaccompanied Children (45 CFR Part § 411) and ORR policies and procedure related to sexual abuse and harassment.
  • Manages adherence to the Child Protection Policy of LAYC, which is a commitment to proactively protect children and youth that directly or indirectly benefit from LAYC programs.
  • Provides prevention of sexual abuse services to clients.
  • Monitors program's reports and performance to ensure compliance.
  • Assists in the recruitment, training and licensing of foster families.
  • Maintains and ensures that all clearances for staff, clients, and foster families are up to date and on file.
  • Creates and provides training to staff and foster families on subjects related to sexual abuse, harassment, inappropriate behavior, neglect, trauma and trauma informed care, trafficking, and exploitation.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned, including case carrying responsibilities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social service fields, or a bachelor's degree in business administration or management.
  • At least two years' experience working in the field of Human Trafficking.
  • At least one year of experience working with child welfare standards, best practices, or quality assurance or compliance.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of community and local resources.
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Bilingual or fluent/proficient: English and Spanish required.
  • Complete state and federal criminal and child abuse/neglect clearances.
  • Pass national sex offender registry check.
  • Flexible, energetic, positive individual with commitment to youth development in a high quality, respectful environment.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with culturally diverse populations.
  • Must be able to provide proof of Immunization (Varicella, MMR, TDAP, Covid & Flu) or being willing and able to obtain required vaccinations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 10 lbs. May require the ability to travel locally and/or regionally.
