Job Summary
The SALT & Corporate Compliance Analyst will manage state and local tax (SALT) compliance, including indirect taxes and property taxes, and support corporate compliance activities. This hybrid role requires comprehensive knowledge of indirect taxes, basic accounting principles, and strong organizational and communication skills.

The SALT & Corporate Compliance Analyst will manage state and local tax (SALT) compliance, including indirect taxes and property taxes, and support corporate compliance activities. This hybrid role requires comprehensive knowledge of indirect taxes, basic accounting principles, and strong organizational and communication skills.
Essential Duties/Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with indirect tax laws (VAT, GST, sales tax, excise duties, customs duties) and property tax regulations.
- Prepare and file accurate indirect tax returns and reports.
- Conduct research on tax law changes and identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Analyze transactions for correct tax application and potential savings.
- Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate recording and payment of liabilities.
- Use tax compliance software and ERP systems (e.g., Avalara).
- Maintain detailed records of transactions subject to indirect taxes.
- Assist with tax audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of business certificates and licenses.
- Monitor expiration dates and ensure timely renewals.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of business license applications.
- Conduct due diligence for unclaimed property and prepare related reports.
- Support compliance policy implementation and training programs.
- Assist in internal and external compliance audits.
- Communicate compliance requirements to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in compliance-related tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Law, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a tax or compliance-related role is a plus.
- Comprehensive knowledge of indirect taxes and basic understanding of property tax laws.
- Basic understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with tax compliance software and ERP systems (e.g., Avalara).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- While performing the duties of this position, employees will work in an office environment.
- Must be able to stand, sit, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl for long periods of time.
- Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and RF scanner for prolonged periods of time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
