Responsibilities:

As a Senior Compliance Analyst, you will:
  • Drive the end-to-end digital AML/CTF customer onboarding strategy through the implementation of KYC/KYB that optimises client experience and delivers a best-in-class framework to prevent and detect financial crime.
  • Act as an AML customer onboarding subject matter expert and share best practices across the firm.
  • Support the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) team by performing client onboarding tasks for corporate entities in accordance with Freemarket's AML policies
  • Prioritise the AML customer onboarding business requirements, driving delivery of technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the company's compliance and financial crime frameworks.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors providing KYC, ID verification and screening services.
  • Support the completion of periodic compliance monitoring and reviews and testing activities, audit reviews, and inspections.
  • Assist the transaction monitoring team with real-time and post-transaction analysis, while preparing weekly management information (MI) reports and statistics.
  • Conduct PEP, sanctions, and adverse media checks, ensuring timely follow-ups and escalation of issues where necessary.
  • Develop, update, and maintain policies and procedures related to diligence and compliance.
  • Provide expert AML customer onboarding-related advice when working with a broad group of stakeholders within the business (Commercial, Banking, Operations and Technology teams) to ensure critical partners are aware of all potential financial crime risk exposure and considerations.
  • Manage client facing relationships and undertake and document compliance site visits for senior management review.
  • Support the Head of Compliance in various tasks, including regulatory research, complaints management, risk assessments and regulatory reporting.
  • Stay up to date with key regulations, including JMLSG guidance, PSD2, Wire Transfer Regulations, and the 5th Money Laundering Directive.
  • Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and escalate them to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLR) as needed.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a compliance, due diligence/onboarding role within financial services preferably Payments.
  • Demonstrates success in onboarding corporate clients and managing complex cases.
  • Strong knowledge of global regulatory frameworks related to AML, anti-bribery, corruption and financial crime.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong organisation and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Project management experience and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA) are highly desirable.
