The University of Oxford is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager to play a vital role in ensuring that appropriate arrangements for compliance are integrated, embedded and operating effectively and efficiently across the University. You will provide expert opinion and specialist advice contributing to University-wide policy and strategic planning.

The Assurance Directorate
The Assurance Directorate is just 5 years old and a growing part of the University Administration and Services (UAS). Its responsibilities include: internal audit, risk management, compliance, data protection, and information security.
Risk and Resilience Team
This team leads on all aspects of business continuity and major incident management, risk management, compliance, internal audit and assurance.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Resilience, the postholder will have an excellent opportunity to experience work spanning the breadth of the University's activities, and to take responsibility for important areas of work in the context of an evolving regulatory environment.
There are three key strands to the role:
1. The postholder will coordinate governance, policy, project and compliance work in the areas owned by the team, including Conflicts of Interest, Anti-Bribery, Gifts and Hospitality.
2 . The postholder will support the University's Head of Risk and Resilience in ensuring that the University has
adequate and effective Compliance procedures in place.
2. The postholder will be required to support the wider work of the Risk and Resilience Team as directed by the Head of Risk and Resilience.
The postholder will need to be comfortable with an evolving remit, allowing the role to be shaped to suit organisational needs and the postholder's skills, experience and interests.
About You
• A degree or equivalent, and evidence of very strong analytical skills and clear, consistent judgement.
• Recent, significant experience of working in a similar compliance role at a senior level in a large and complex organisation.
• Excellent knowledge of core compliance topics including conflicts of interests, bribery and corruption, gifts and hospitality and sanctions and anti-trust.
• Excellent knowledge of compliance management.
• Excellent written communication skills, with a proven ability to produce clear and comprehensive committee papers, presentations and policies.
• Excellent oral communication and presentation skills.
• Evidence of the ability to work collaboratively and gain the trust and confidence of, and influence and persuade, people at all levels, both internal and external to the University, as well as manage relationships with multiple stakeholder groups.
• Flexible, imaginative and creative approach to identifying practical solutions to complex problems.
• An understanding of the culture and purpose of the University, and a commitment to the provision of administrative services in support of teaching and research and to the highest administrative and ethical standards in upholding the University's constitutional procedures.
• Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure.
