As a Senior Compliance Officer and MLRO, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the company adheres to all relevant UK regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for regulated EMIs, including Safeguarding, Complaint Handling, and Conduct of Business rules and consumer Duty requirements.
- Monitor adherence to FCA rules and regulatory requirements for EMIs.
- Develop and maintain AML/CFT policies, procedures, templates, and manuals.
- Conduct compliance reviews on clients, internal processes, and overall practices.
- Support the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) with regulatory reporting, project scoping, data extraction, and submissions.
- Perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk merchants, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
- Collaborate with internal departments to improve process efficiencies, especially in product compliance.
- Provide training and updates on compliance processes to enhance operational efficiency.
To thrive in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- In-depth knowledge of compliance, AML, and the payments industry, focusing on the UK EMI regulatory framework.
- Strong understanding of FCA rules and requirements, including Safeguarding, Complaint Handling, Consumer Duty, and Conduct of Business.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with stakeholders and customers.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within the payments or FinTech sectors.
- Proven expertise in managing compliance and regulatory risks.
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and ML/TF risk management.
- Successful track record of managing complex projects.
- Experience in building or enhancing compliance processes.
- Ability to adapt and excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and creative thinker who can navigate diverse situations.
- A bachelor's degree in Law is required.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CAMS are an advantage.
