We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Enterprise Risk Manager join our team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is a great job for a highly motivated individual to join a dynamic, agile and visible team on a temporary basis in a key delivery position!

You will help to drive and influence the appropriate understanding and management of the full spectrum of insurance and enterprise risks in real time across the Aviva Insurance Limited's (AIL) UK general insurance entity.

Immediate start preferred as the role is fulling a 6 Month Contract

A bit about the job:

Within this role you will provide key thought leadership and delivery capability to identify, measure, communicate risks and coordinate the business on various activities spanning the spectrum of enterprise and insurance risks and opportunities. Working closely with the Chief Risk Office (CRO), Enterprise Risk Director and Heads of Technical Insurance Risk, Insurance Risk and Enterprise Risk, you will lead on the delivery of key objectives required under AIL's Risk Management Framework, ensuring alignment with and our insurance, operational, financial and other risk preferences and broader risk appetite framework; author key risk reports as required; support the CRO in meeting regulatory requests; and providing thought leadership to targeted deep dives on emerging risk themes. You will apply your expertise to support team upskilling and onboarding.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
  • Experienced risk, actuarial or finance professional who is driven, curious, commercially minded and ready for a challenge in supporting risks across the UK's biggest General Insurance company. Familiarity with the insurance and financial risks and processes typical for GI companies and AIL is required with detailed knowledge of Solvency II a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written), analytically minded yet with ability to articulate difficult and complex issues precisely and concisely to senior stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Critical thinker with proven ability to review and appropriately challenge material business decisions, taking ownership of issues and building collaborative relationships across the three lines of defence.
  • Ability to 'join the dots', spotting emerging trends and potential risks and opportunities to the business with clear articulation of the impact these might have on AIL's key performance metrics and appetites

  • Starting salary between £70,000 and £85,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
