We are seeking a Senior Quality and Compliance Manager to join our team here at the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) Co-ordinating Centre. This is a new role to the team so now is a great time to join us and really help shape the role.

What will you be doing?

Working within our Contract Performance and Compliance team this role will design, implement and oversee our quality management system ensure that we are compliant with our contractual requirements and statutory obligations. Other aspects of the role include:
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and legislation by translating these into clear operational processes
  • Overseeing the gaining and maintaining of ISO accreditation for the organisation.
  • To proactively identify compliance requirements and ensure compliance before commencement dates.
  • Develop a robust set of checks and audits to maintain quality standards.
  • Line manage the Quality and Compliance Administrator.
Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience of managing quality and compliance of any auditable standard and has in depth knowledge of risk and controls management. In addition to this you will be able to demonstrate:
  • Proactive approach to work and able to identify compliance requirements
  • Ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders and influence/ negotiate with them
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex issues relating to systems into easily understood language for non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrable knowledge of current statutory and regulatory requirements, ideally within the research management environment
Although not essential, knowledge of ISO9001/27001/22301 would be advantageous.
