Catholic Community Services operates a Supportive Services for Veterans Families (SSVF) program in Pierce County. The SSVF program is funded by the Veterans Administration (VA) and provides supportive services for very low-income Veteran households experiencing housing instability.
The SSVF Compliance Specialist II will be responsible for overseeing administrative duties for the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. This position will be the first point of contact for the public engaging with the SSVF program. They are responsible for responding to all communication on the SSVF main line and email. They will have a broad knowledge of Veteran resources and the Veteran Coordinated Entry Systems. They will screen Veterans for program eligibility, audit paperwork, verify HMIS data entry, attend Veterans By Name list meetings, assist Veterans in gathering required documentation and help navigate Veterans to ensure they are connected to community resources and housing services. They will also respond to and triage complaints, educate the public about available Veteran services and provide referrals. The SSVF Compliance Specialist II will also assist the Compliance Manager in duties to maintain program compliance. They will be responsible for monitoring files, supervising, and training staff located in 3 offices throughout Pierce and Balance of State Counties on utilizing the Veteran Coordinated Entry System and maintaining program compliance.

Responsibilities
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Veteran services coordination and referral
- Operate communications for SSVF main line and email triaging and routing correspondence as appropriate
- HMIS data entry and correction in BOS and Pierce County and tracking
- Attend various Veteran by Name List meetings.
- Assist in Veteran by Name List maintenance Projects
- Assist in Coordinating internal and external outreach efforts
- Navigate veterans to match them with housing resources at Veteran Case Conferencing.
- Review client eligibility by reviewing financials and veteran status using SQUARES.
- Complete paperwork and screenings for SSVF Homeless Prevention Services and SSVF Rapid Rehousing services
- Assist with gathering referral documentation from community partners
- Direct and navigate veterans, the public and community providers to resources
- Keep the CCS SSVF website page, the SSVF hotline and SSVF website updated and
- Update staff contact list
- Coordinate annual holiday gift donations
- Coordinate donations and distribution
- Update and archive SSVF forms
- Upload paper files into SharePoint or other electronic file management system.
- Archive paper files according to CCS Policy
- Create and distribute welcome packets for new staff
- Coordinate annual holiday gift donations
- Coordinate donation and distribution of items (cold weather gear, hygiene supplies, etc.)
- Order supplies
- Provide additional HMIS and compliance operations expertise as needed for case managers across 3 sites in Pierce and BOS,
- Assist in compliance efforts: auditing, corrections, training staff, providing feedback to case managers, and additional tasks
- Track and train staff on HMIS data entry, assessor privileges and on understanding and navigating Veterans through the Veteran Coordinated Entry system
- Participate in onsite safety committees- update and train SSVF on staff safety, conduct monthly safety trainings to program staff
- Complete site orientations for new staff
- Be first responder to crisis occurring at worksite
- Help model and train staff in de-escalation
REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- 2 years of experience in customer service, social services data monitoring, or program supervision
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to adapt to change in fast paced environment
- Ability to learn quickly and explain complex guidelines in "plain language."
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 Programs
- Significant knowledge of social service resources
- Ability to relate well to staff and clients from a diverse racial, ethnic and/or cultural background.
- Commitment to developing and safekeeping a workplace, which values and supports a culturally diverse work environment
- Ability to travel among work sites
- Ability to travel for required SSVF trainings
- Commitment to CCS Mission Statement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Military veteran or strong connection to the military
- Knowledge of Pierce County and order Balance of State Resources
- Working knowledge of HMIS systems
- Bachelor's degree
