Position Overview
The Tax Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that NCF and NCF's Supporting Organizations ("SOs") comply with applicable federal and state tax laws including the preparation, review and filing of Form 990 returns, 990-T returns, equivalent state 990-T returns, Form 1120S returns, international tax filings, and FBAR and Form 8938.
A major need of the role is ensuring that adequate federal and state tax is estimated and withheld from all sales and distributions related to unrelated business income ("UBI") assets (currently approximately 400±) and then to later "true-up" with donor-advised funds when federal and state liabilities are known.
This position is hybrid based out of the office in Alpharetta, GA, however, during training the successful candidate will have to be in the office.

Management/Supervision: Responsible for managing two Tax Staff Accountants

Duties & Responsibilities
Tax Management, Prep and Filing of Returns
- Manage and review filings for various international forms for multiple organizations
- Prepare, manage, review and file Form 990s and 990-Ts for multiple organizations
- Prepare quarterly projections for NCF SO's that incur federal and state UBIT in order to calculate quarterly federal and state estimated payments, and prepare and file federal and state quarterly estimated payments
- Analyze sales of and distributions from non-liquid ("NL") assets for UBIT; and if there is UBIT, calculates estimated current federal and state UBIT to be withheld
- Provide analysis, direct input and assists with recommendation/formulation of tax management strategies for NCF entities to effectively manage tax rates.
- Communicate findings to the Gift Planning, NL Asset teams and other interested parties.
- Provide input for decision making and direction on issues affecting NL Gifts/Assets, single-member LLCs (disregarded entities), CGAs, and Life Insurance
- Assist NL Department with Excess Business Holdings ("EBH") assets
- Assist GPs, DD Team, RMs, CAA, and Asset Managers with UBIT and other gift intake questions
- Assist with special projects as assigned

- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
- Masters in Accounting, Finance or Tax, focus in ministry or related field is preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Seven years of accounting and tax experience required; federal and state tax audit and Form 990 and Form 990-T preparation experience, a plus
- Two to four years supervisory experience
- Familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for recording and reporting Non-Liquid Assets and related accounting requirements for Non-Profit Organization Taxation (i.e. FIN 48 {new FASB ASC 740} and SFAS 109)
