Reporting to the L3Harris ICI Finance and Commercial Director, candidates will be responsible for managing a small Team of Trade Compliance Professionals tasked with supporting the business activities of the ICI Division in the UK. This is the lead role within the team which owns and ensures the business operates within and is compliant with all applicable Trade Compliance regulations and L3Harris Corporate Policies.
The role will also take a leading position in assessing and providing guidance across the broader portfolio of business activities within ICI across Australia and the USA. This would be from an advisory position largely, with greater responsibility in areas such as policy writing and adoption, to ensure consistency and best practice across the division.
Candidates will be required to work closely with local Business Development, Programmes, and Engineering personnel to provide expert advice and strategic guidance as it relates to the importing and exporting of controlled goods, software and technology. Being part of the wider L3Harris Trade Compliance Team candidates will work cooperatively with both local and Corporate Trade Compliance personnel to establish efficiencies and best practices that support compliant growth of the L3Harris Corporation.

- Work in an advisory capacity with senior leadership, to support the business execution through the provision of advice and best practice.
- Monitor changes in regulations to embargoed and sanctioned countries, and other applicable regulatory aspects, to drive effective communication and business process change to manage any business impact.
- Identify and act upon opportunities to influence export legislation and implementation.
- Work closely with other departments to identify all transactions having import/export authorisation and other trade compliance related requirements.
- Oversee the preparation, submission and management of UK and Australian Government export licences and approvals to ensure continuous coverage for business activities.
- Support internal and external US parties with the application and management of US export authorisations, where ICI EMEA is the beneficiary; TAAs, MLAs, Licences etc.
- Ensure accurate and timely Trade Compliance reporting to UK Government and L3Harris.
- Work with Engineering through the Trade Compliance aspects of developing unencumbered sovereign capabilities.
- Guide and assist Trade Compliance Technical Specialists to obtain the necessary information to enable jurisdiction and classification analysis of equipment, software and technology.
- Support briefings, seeking export support and approval from the UK Department of International Trade, Ministry of Defence, National Cyber Security Centre and Foreign Commonwealth Office.
