The Global Trade Compliance team is responsible for supporting all business functions related to the Company's cross-border transactions. The Trade Compliance Specialist I is a key player in the Zebra Global Trade Compliance program, working closely with the rest of the global trade compliance team, including other specialists, advisors, and managers, as well as with Zebra Supply Chain and Operations and other internal and external partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Export Controls and Sanctions Compliance
    • Reviews and resolves daily export compliance holds, e.g., restricted party/denied part list and license-required holds, on outbound shipments in support of the Companies' export controls and sanctions compliance program;
    • Supports other internal controls on export shipments by reviewing and resolving daily Incoterm holds
    • Supporst other export control and sanctions reviews and projects
  • Import and Export Compliance, Supply Chain/Operations
    • Supports the Company's trade compliance and business operations by addressing routine requests from internal stakeholders on import and export documentation and processes; proposes process improvements when warranted
    • Addresses regular inquiries from Zebra's customs brokers and internal stakeholders regarding trade compliance attributes and information including Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN), country of origin (COO), customs value, and documents related to Partner Government Agencies' (PGA) compliance
    • Supports research and tracking of changes to regulations and policies impacting international trade, as necessary
  • Declarations and Recordkeeping
    • Executes compliance processes related to import and export declaration filings and recordkeeping; engages customs brokers and freight forwarders/carriers, as necessary, to access required import and export data and records
    • Maintains trade compliance records including but not limited to import and export documents; helps design and develop recordkeeping process and site maintenance and organization
  • Systems and Trade Data Management
    • Conducts reviews, when warranted, related to trade data integrity, i.e., HTS classifications, ECCNs, and COO
Qualifications:
  • High school or equivalent, diploma is an advantage - in business, finance, accounting, logistics/transportation, and/or compliance
  • 1 year or more of work experience in trade compliance or similar business as logistics and transportation or equivalent coursework
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required
  • Excel advanced level, proficiency in MS office package is necessary
