The role The University of Bristol is seeking an Compliance Officer (Mechanical Gas) to help provide support to the Compliance and Contracts Manager, in ensuring compliance with all mechanical and gas regulations and help ensure the smooth running of the mechanical and gas management plan across our estate. In this role, you will assist with the mechanical and gas servicing management, carrying out audits to ensure high standards are maintained and action remedials identified by contractors. The Financial Compliance Team is a developing 2nd line function, responsible for five key areas; ensuring a robust financial governance framework is in place in all countries and risks are proactively mitigated; developing and updating financial policies across the international firm and monitoring policy compliance; maintenance, evaluation and reporting of financial risk registers, fraud governance and compliance with the Solicitor Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules. Regular compliance reviews are undertaken on site in each country to evaluate high risk areas and to test controls, processes and compliance with group policies. The compliance reviews are a monitoring activity for the firm and provides assurance to the Audit Committee over the firm's financial control environment. This role will support the development of a strong compliance culture throughout the international firm. A key element will be to undertake compliance reviews and other monitoring activities to evaluate the firm's processes and controls and recommend meaningful improvements. While dedicated to PWSS matters, you will functionally be part of the group-wide Legal &amp; Compliance department. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Your role will have a broad remit. You will be responsible for developing, implementing and operating compliance programs and other internal control arrangements covering the design, governance, marketing and distribution of PWSS products, on a regional basis, meeting the requirements and expectations of all applicable regulators. You will further be responsible, together with other members of the global Legal &amp; Compliance function, for ensuring that the group's various investment management and advisory entities used for PWSS activities and products continue to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
