Company Description Job Description The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is comprised of 2,000 employees and with an annual operating budget of over $1 billion is one of the largest organizations of its kind committed to preventing and addressing homelessness in New York City. Collaborating with other public agencies and not-for-profit partners, DHS works to prevent homelessness before it occurs, reduce street homelessness, and assist New Yorkers to transition from shelter into appropriate permanent housing. DHS is responsible for management of over 200 facilities, which mainly are individual, and family shelters used as overnight residences for over 38,000 adults and children. DHS's portfolio covers approximately 4M square feet. The Division of Shelter Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of the agency's Single Adult, Adulty Families and Families with Children shelter systems, both directly run and contracted providers. The work done in this Division centers on the re-housing of all shelter populations and the implementation of programming/shelter initiatives. Company Description Job Description The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nation's oldest and largest public housing authority with more than 176,000 apartments, and responsibility for administering a citywide Section 8 leased housing program that serves over 200,000 additional tenants. NYCHA's Asset &amp; Capital Management (A&amp;CM) Division integrates and aligns the Authority's existing development, modernization, and asset management work being carried out by the Capital Projects and Comprehensive Modernization departments. The A&amp;CM Division will bring comprehensive repairs to NYCHA buildings and apartments through innovative financing models, strong partnership with residents and other stakeholders, strategic, data-driven portfolio planning, and cost-effective project delivery and management. Within Asset and Capital Management's Quality Assurance Vertical, the Construction Safety and Quality Department (CSQ) performs independent site inspections of samples of active construction sites to ensure that construction work is performed in a safe manner, in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, and the quality of work is in line with best practices and contract specifications. The department also performs reviews of proposed specifications and drawings and develops Site Safety Programs (SSPs) and Environmental Remediation Work Plans (ERWPs) to ensure that safety and environmental requirements are appropriately addressed. Reporting to the Environmental Compliance Manager, with latitude for independent judgment, the Senior Environmental Compliance Analyst will perform highly responsible work in managing field audits of active hazardous material abatements and ensuring compliance with safe work practices. The successful candidate will also review licenses, testing data and related reports to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and other mandates; assist with resolution of identified non-compliance items; the preparation of reports for oversight departments; and assist with managing and coaching junior staff. Our Risk team is at the core of Raylo working across functions, products, and as we scale internationally, to monitor front-line performance and ensure the business is monitoring and controlling risk. People in the Risk team are among the first in the company to get involved in new business initiatives, from Operations, Supply Chain, through Finance to Customer Success. We're looking for a Risk Manager to continue improving our enterprise risk management framework and governance structures. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you'll identify and mitigate risks, improve internal controls, and support our risk reporting. You'll collaborate with stakeholders, provide guidance to the team and enjoy challenging our processes to help drive improvements. What you'll do... - Working with the first-line of defence to identify, assess, document, and regularly review risks of all types across the business - Provide second-line oversight of risks and maintain enterprise risk management framework - Developing and implementing risk policies and procedures, key risk indicators, and risk appetite statement - Monitoring risk against limits and thresholds, producing reports for management and board - Evaluating and implementing risk management tools and systems - Monitoring KRI breaches and working with the business to resolve them within a set timeline - Providing guidance, support and training to the business on risk management practices and governance - Establish and maintain effective internal control systems to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure data integrity and security - Identifying, assessing, and mitigating third-party risks identified via risk and control testing during onboarding, ongoing monitoring, and off-boarding processes - Defining third-party risk management policies, procedures, and playbooks - Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in consumer credit and asset finance, and adapt governance strategies accordingly - Help to foster a culture of compliance, ethics, and operational excellence through training and education programs You'll succeed with... + 3+ years of experience in operational or enterprise risk management in banking, fintech or financial services consultancy + We recognise the potential range in terms of how this role can be scoped to match your skills and experience, and therefore salary and overall compensation will be flexible and determined on a case-by-case basis + Experience in some or all risk frameworks, audit &amp; controls, risk monitoring &amp; reporting, process mapping and third-party risk management + Ideally a good understanding of information security including data protection and GDPR, system development life cycle, and cyber security + Risk toolkits including risk register and risk control self-assessments + Knowledge of financial regulations that impact fintech operations (e.g. GDPR, Consumer Duty, AML, KYC) + High level of proficiency in Excel + Ability to leverage data to monitor risk, ensure compliance and optimise governance processes + Education to degree level, ideally STEM degree + Being curious and never accepting assumptions + The ability to take a strategic view and see the bigger picture while also having attention to detail and a forensic mindset + An organised and methodological approach + Previous examples of interpreting and organising complexity We're not looking for you to meet every point on this job description, please still get in touch if you think you could add value and do your best work here at Raylo.
